A representitive from Metroluxe comes to the home to meet with you and to review the items to be sold. We will discusss our process, determine estimated value and address any questions or concerns. We will present you with a copy of our agreement for your review.
SCHEDULING THE SALE
Once determined that an estate sale fits your needs, we will work together to select the sale dates. Typically sales are conducted over the course of a weekend. Sales can be conducted successfully year round.
SETUP & STAGING
Most sales require a one week period to effectively stage & setup in preperation for the estate sale. We supply quality tables, table cloths, locking & lighted showcases, jewelry displays and various other types of retail displays as needed. Our staff will clean, polish & detail as needed. Professional photos will be taken once the staging is complete.
Using years of experience from hundreds of sales, we price every item in the house. Through consultation with our on-staff appraiser, we verify that pricing is accurate based on current market values. We value any input that you may have on item value.
ADVERTISING & SALE PROMOTION
In the days and weeks leading up to the sale, we will market through our own website, social media platforms, leading estate sale marketing websites, email blasts to 10k plus subscribers as well as printed materials. Our advertising has a national level reach in excess of 100k people.
CONDUCTING THE SALE
Our experienced staff provides excellent customer service by ensuring effecient checkout, security, traffic control, large item carryout, and the ability to engage with the buyers while upselling and providing assistance.
In most instances, the majority of unsold items would be considered donation type items. We will make recommendations to this regard and help facilitate pickup at your discreation to any favorable charity.
We work on a percentage of the total sale proceeds. The rate covers the price of staff, advertising & security. The average sale requires over 300 combined staff hours of staging, setup, prep work & marketing. Since we appeal to retail customers, we often acheive higher prices than auctions or other venues.
